HairMax for Density

August 21, 2020

I'm always hesitant when it comes to shampoo for hair loss.  I am skeptical that any product can regrow hair due to Androgenetic Alopecia so when I am shopping for and testing out hair care lines, I like to focus on volume and my oh so favorite feeling, the little tingle on your scalp that makes me think its actually working.

When I received the HairMax for Density 4 Piece Hair Care System, and Quick Dry Towel, I was excited to try it out.  I have tried their products in the past and loved the results, and couldn't speak more highly of HairMax LaserComb (you can read my review here).

First, the shampoo and conditioner smell incredible.  The shampoo is gentle but still provides the little tingle to the scalp I love and my scalp felt the cleanest it has been in as long as I can remember.  The conditioner is lightweight but moisturized my dry dull curls.  You didn't need much of either, one pump of the shampoo and two pumps of the condition was the perfect amount.  Both the shampoo and conditioner are sulfate free which we know is good for our hair.

I stepped out of the shower and wrapped my hair in the signature blue quick dry towel.  The towel is long enough to gently twist my hair and tuck the excess material into the nap of the neck to secure the towel while I carried on with my routine.  It beats using the old t-shirts I had been using to dry my curls!

My hair was literally wrapped in the towel no more than 5 minutes before I took it off and it was over 50% dry already.  This seriously cut my drying time in half since I was styling it straight that day.  If you have natural curls, I would probably recommend only wrapping your hair in the towel for 30 seconds to keep in the curls wet before applying curly hair styling products.

Next up I tried the Acceler8 Hair Booster.  To be honest, I was worried this product would make my hair oily and result in me having to wash it again the next day (I like to go as many days as possible between washes - some call it lazy - I call it time management).  It DID NOT leave it oily at all.  To apply this product you massage it into your thinning areas for 3 minutes.  I had to ask Alexa to set a timer as I knew I would greatly underestimate how long 3 minutes is.  It actually felt good to massage my scalp but my arms did get a little sore (note to self: lift weights).

After I pulled out and dusted off my HairMax LaserComb and used that.  It has been a while since I have used it but I need to get back into it as I have had some tangible results in the past.  I then styled my hair and posted my results in my @hair.editary Instagram story.  The volume I got seriously speaks for itself!

Later that night I sampled the HairMax Active Serum, which is to be left on the scalp overnight.  Again, I was worried it would make my scalp oily and require me to wash my hair the next day, but it didn't and that is a win in my books!

So, would I recommend the HairMax for Density line?  You are damn right I would!  10/10 for volume and smell and that little tingle I love so much on the scalp!  Cons: the product line is on the pricey side but you don't need much product, just a pump of each - so I think it would last you a couple months depending on how frequently you wash your locks! Totally recommend!
